Dawes Intermediate School
Located off McFarland Road in west Mobile, we are one of just a few schools in Mobile County Public Schools that does not receive federal Title I funding.
Our School Operations Blueprint was inspired by the Baldrige Criteria of Excellence.
We have a wonderful faculty, with 78 percent of our teachers having earned a master’s degree or higher. Our staff includes teachers with National Board Certification, Baldrige Examiners, Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching Finalists, MCPSS Teachers of the Year and the current Alabama Teacher of the Year.
We received the Lighthouse Blue Ribbon School of Excellence Award in 2016, ranking “excellent” in all nine categories as evaluated on-site by examiners.
